Since Overland Trail Guide's inception back in the fall of 2019, we've long considered the Lost Coast our spiritual home. This remote stretch of northern California Coastline got its name in the 1930s when highway engineers decided to veer highways inland to avoid the rugged terrain of the King Range. This decision led to the depopulation of local communities giving the region its name-- the Lost Coast.
