Route Overview

Adventure Rating: Epic

Trip Length: 217 miles, 3-5 days

Season: Year round, but October - April is recommended to avoid the summer heat.

Technical Rating: Mostly green with some mild blue sections.

Typical Terrain: Graded dirt and gravel roads, with some bumpier jeep trails.

Recommended Vehicle: SUV or truck with 4x4

Adventure Vans: Sprinter 4x4s should be able to manage the entire route.

Alternative Routes: n/a A Note about Through Passage: At the southern end of the route, there is a parcel of private property owned by Castle Dome Mine Museum. Typically the museum leaves their gates unlocked, but occasionally they are locked. We recommend calling ahead to the museum to confirm the gates will be open (please stop by to support them as well!).
