Sonoran Desert Traverse - Feb 2024

Come join the OTG crew as we take on the Sonoran Desert Traverse.  We'll be capping attendance at 6 total vehicles.

We'll be dispersed camping, most if not all of the nights on this trip.  

Pets

Well behaved dogs may attend.  

Families with Children

Families with children are welcome to join, but your kids should be accustomed to traveling long days in the vehicle and multiple days in the backcountry.

Itinerary -- Feb 17 - 22

The detailed itinerary and GPX file will be posted in the forums as the date nears.  Our days will consist of exploring various discovery points along the way, some shorter hikes (potentially up to 2-3 miles), and lots of driving.  The vast majority of this trip will consist of driving off road, but there will be opportunities to refuel along the way.  

Prep

Your typical camping/overlanding gear, but be sure to bring extra propane/butane for cooking given the length of this trip.  Weather can be quite variable in desert in the winter months.  We recommend checking the forecast and packing appropriately.

You acknowledge that some OTG events carry inherent dangers, such as the risk of illness, bodily injury, disability, death, and including damage to your vehicle. By participating in these events, you understand and agree that you have freely chosen to assume these risks.
