About the event

The Lost Coast & Emerald Triangle Experience

Come join American Safari Company (OTG's sister company) for an epic tour of northern California's Lost Coast and Emerald Triangle Regions.  This tour is perfect for for overlanders of all experience levels.  The Lost Coast straddles the rugged and wild Mendocino and Humboldt coastlines where Highway 1 veers inland, while the Emerald Triangle is the cradle of California's marijuana industry in the incredibly idyllic hills and mountains of Humboldt and Mendocino Counties.

Participants will get to experience rugged coastlines, wild beaches, pristine rivers, ancient redwood forests, wildlife viewing (roosevelt elk),  abandoned lighthouses, wildlife viewing, and 1-2 private tours of working marijuana farms by longtime locals.

Camping will be a mix and match of primitive camping locations, along with private property and spending at least one night at a working marijuana farm (possibly 2).

American Safari Company is the only fully permitted outfitter running overland tours in the Lost Coast.

The tour has been designed and curated by OTG founder and lifelong explorer, Ben Easley.  Brian Low will be leading the tour.  Brian is well versed in the tour world, having led hiking, bikepacking, and bike tours for Sports Basement.
