High Sierra BaseCamp -- June 2024

Join the OTG Crew for our second BaseCamp event of 2024.  This family friendly event will be taking place in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.  This is a great opportunity for folks who'd like to meet their fellow OTG members!

Location

Central Sierra location approximately 30 minute from Kirkwood.  Exact location will be shared the week of the event.   Please note, there are no facilities on site.  All attendees must provide their own water, pack out their own trash, including solid human waste. 

Vehicle Requirements

The final few miles to camp is on a dirt road, and the last several hundred yards is quite bumpy.  Appropriate vehicles include:

• Stock 4x4s
• AWD/Crossovers (we do recommend a 1" lift)
• Sprinter 4x4s (144 short WB is recommended)
• Adventure Bikes (mid-sized or dual sport)

Lifted trucks with high roof campers may have issues making it to camp.  

BaseCamp Activities

We chose this location precisely because it has so many things to do during the day.  Please bring games/toys to play at camp like RC trucks, cornhole, frisbees, footballs, etc.

• Kayaking
• Fishing
• Hiking (PCT is just around the corner)
• Mountain Biking 
• Multiple trail runs on Friday + Saturday from mild to technical 

Children & Pets

Families are encouraged to join!  Well behaved pets may attend as well.  If you have an aggressive and/or unruly, we may ask you to secure your dog at your camp.
