About the event

The Black Rock Desert / High Rock Canyon / Emigrant Trails Experience

Come join American Safari Company (OTG's sister company) for an epic tour of northern Nevada's Black Rock Desert.  This tour is perfect for for overlanders of all experience levels.  The Black Rock Desert includes one of the largest salt flats in North America (the Black Rock Playa), hot springs, old emigrant trails, old homesteads and pioneer sites, the exquisitely beatifuly and rugged high rock canyon, and some of the darkest skies in the lower 48.

Most camp locations will take place in the backcountry with little to no amenities.

Your Guide

The tour has been designed and curated by OTG founder and lifelong explorer, Ben Easley.  Brian Low will be leading the tour.  Brian is well versed in the tour world, having led hiking, bikepacking, and bike tours for Sports Basement.

The OTG Tour Experience

OTG and American Safari Co strive to create an unforgettable experience.  These are intimate, small group adventures. It is critical that each individual bring their best self to the group and expect to participate equally.

Tours typically include some short hikes to particular areas of interest.

What's Included in your Adventure

Expert route planning, camping fees, morning coffee, and OTG/ASC swag.
